LandJam 2015 – The David Grisman Bluegrass Experience and Sierra Hull

The PLC marked its 7th year of LandJam with another great combination of dazzling young talent and legendary expertise. The benefit featured bluegrass legend and mandolin virtuoso David “Dawg” Grisman with his extraordinary band of seasoned musicians. Award winning songwriter Laurelyn Dossett kicked off the night, followed by the ever-impressive musical talents of Sierra Hull. The night culminated in the bluegrass statesman Grisman walking the crowd through a history of the music that he loved and helped to make great.




LandJam 2014 – Steep Canyon Rangers, Mipso, and Laurelyn Dossett

The 6th annual LandJam hosted by the Piedmont Land Conservancy was another successful night of bluegrass music. Benefitting land conservation all over the Piedmont of North Carolina, LandJam 2014 has held at the Carolina Theatre. On October 17th, 2014, the very famous Steep Canyon Rangers came out to perform. Opening for Steep Canyon Rangers were none other than the experimental Americana Band MIPSO and legendary songwriter Laurelyn Dossett.

LandJam 2013 – The Del McCoury Band, Vince Herman, The Travelin McCourys and Jay Starling

Piedmont Land Conservancy was proud to present the 5th annual PLC LandJam concert to benefit land conservation across the Piedmont of North Carolina at the Carolina Theatre in Greensboro on Friday, October 25, 2013. The PLC welcomed the legendary Del McCoury Band to its first appearance at LandJam last year. The Laurelyn Dossett Band opened, and special guests Vince Herman of Leftover Salmon and Jay Starling joined in the Late Night Land Jam with The Travelin McCourys.

LandJam 2012 – Tim O’Brien, Darrell Scott, and John Cowan

Nashville songwriting legends Tim O'Brien, Darrell Scott, and John Cowan will join forces on stage for one night on October 19, 2012 at Piedmont Land Conservancy's 4th Annual LandJam benefit concert at the historic Carolina Theatre in Greensboro, NC. Proceeds from the event will benefit PLC's land conservation efforts in the North Carolina Piedmont. The trio will trade off performing their large repertoire of award-winning songs with soaring, soulful vocals and amazing instrumental mastership. Chapel Hill bluegrass band Big Fat Gap will warm up the crowd with their foot stomping groove while the Triad's own singer, songwriter, and lyrical historian Laurelyn Dossett will act as special host for the event.

2011's LandJam was a huge success. Bluegrass legends Tony Rice and Peter Rowan led a band of award-winning local musicians for a nearly sold out crowd at the Carolina Theatre on October 14, 2011. Joining Rice and Rowan on stage were Grammy award winning musicians Bobby Hicks on fiddle and Craig Smith on banjo, mandolin virtuoso Tony Williamson, and local bass favorite Bert Sprye. Singer, songwriter, and lyrical historian Laurelyn Dossett also performed and hosted the event.
